Seradex, a leading software company that provides solutions to the “make-to-order” and “engineered-to-order” industries, partnered with us to develop a web-based software tool that provides customers with an accurate, real-time interactive 3D model of their product selection, or in other words, a 3D Previsualization and Configuration Tool.
The initiative involved four stages: research 3D frameworks for the web, research for a high-quality web renderer, research for a data format for storing 3D information, and finally, development of the tool itself, which was an innovative success. This ground-breaking technology did not exist commercially prior to this project. The prototype was developed using a combination of WebGL and Three.js, a custom JSON file format, and an optimized item configuration format.
