Sheridan breaks into the top five for research colleges in Canada

Every year, Research Infosource Inc. publishes its research ranking findings in their publication Canada's Innovation Leaders. It includes reports on top R&D numbers in Canada including "Canada's Top 50 Research Universities," "Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals" and " Canada's Top 50 Research Colleges." Research income across Canada this year totalled $197.9 million. Based on research income, here are the top five research colleges in Canada:

  • Lambton College - $11.4 million
  • George Brown College - $11.1 million
  • Northern Alberta Insitute of Technology - $9.9 million
  • Cégep de Trois-Rivières - $8.3 million
  • Sheridan College -  $8.3 million

In addition to income, Sheridan also leads large colleges in the highest number of completed research projects with 180. Algonquin College came in second with 170 projects followed by Niagara College with 131. Sheridan also remained in the top five for other categories including the number of paid student researchers and industry research intensity.
