SIRT presented three demonstrations illustrating the Centre’s previsualization/virtual production work to visiting representatives from the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Women in Film And Television - Toronto (WIFT-T), and a delegation from the International Indian Film Academy. Held at SIRT’s workshop space at Pinewood Toronto Studios, each group watched a live demonstration of a scene performed by acting students. Their performance was captured through Vicon motion-capture cameras and simultaneously screened as a virtual scene in Autodesk's Motionbuilder software, which played alongside the performers. The demonstrations also integrated SIRT’s virtual camera and examples of previsualization in the industry. SIRT staff explained the significance of previs and virtual production as tools within the evolving production workflow, and discussed the particular opportunities and challenges they might present each group.
