SIRT will be demonstrating an augmented reality (AR) app on Microsoft's Hololens that allows users to quickly create, customize, and "previsualize" a scene for film, television, or game development. The app will show the potential use of AR headsets such as the Hololens in pre-production and during development of digital media content. A scanned set will be brought in as a digital 3D asset, along with a library of 3D animated assets. A custom Hololens application will allow users to visualize the digital set, then using voice commands, place the 3D assets in the scene. An iPad Pro with the Structure sensor will also accompany as an example of a low budget digital scanner that can scan real world objects and produce 3D digital assets.
