High Speed Imaging research project with William F. White International

William F. White International Inc. (WFW), a major equipment rental company for the Canadian motion picture, television, and digital media industries, partnered with Sheridan College's Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) to evaluate the technology behind a new service offering that involved establishment of a High Speed Imaging Truck in Toronto. Based on the results WFW has made significant investments in new equipment and infrastructure that are aimed at increasing rental revenues and staffing requirements for the company. (High-speed cinematography or imaging, which is to be distinguished from High Frame Rate moviemaking, is carried out in order to create slow motion effects in the final shot.) This initiative was funded through WFW and the Ontario Centres of Excellence.
