SIRT would like to congratulate York University’s 3D Film Innovation Consortium (3D FLIC) on the success of the Toronto International Stereoscopic 3D Conference, which took place June 11-14. Hosted at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, the conference offered panel discussions, film screenings and master classes to help guests from all areas of production better understand the process, challenges and opportunities of stereoscopic 3D filmmaking. Panels included conversations on the relationship between stereography and cinematography, 3D as a storytelling tool, and the 3D postproduction field. Several lectures featured case studies from recent immersive 3D productions, including Catherine Owen’s U23D and Wim Wender’s PINA.
